The Turmoil of the Artist
Art, to me, is a profound expression of human creativity and emotion, transcending mere aesthetics to convey deeper truths about our existence. It serves as a mirror reflecting society’s values, struggles, and aspirations, offering a unique perspective that challenges and inspires. As a model, I often feel eloquent yet overshadowed by the harsh realities of the industry, where respect and fair compensation are frequently overlooked. The media’s portrayal can sometimes feel like a gaslight, distorting the true essence of our contributions.
The exploitation of creative professionals under the guise of exposure or social media recognition is a pervasive issue that undermines the true value of our work. Just as art deserves to be appreciated and valued, so too do the individuals who bring it to life. I believe it is essential to recognize and address these injustices, ensuring that all contributors to the artistic world receive the respect and remuneration they rightfully deserve. Slave labor is wrong, and no one should work for free. Social media doesn’t count as payment for models or photographers, and it’s high time we demand better treatment and fair pay
